Sports and remedial massage:
Sports massage may be used as part of your treatment plan or simply as part of your training regime. Each session is personalised to you.
You do not need to be injured to benefit from a sports massage. It could be that you require some work on opening up specific areas or simply are tense from a tough week at work.
Core and post natal:
People often talk about their core as a 'bracing' mechanism. Our Ultrasound Imaging Machine (USI) is a great tool to help activate the 'core system'.
With the help of USI we aim to get you moving quickly in a more functional way so that your body adapts quickly.
If you have had a baby and are unsure about exercising, or have- recurrent lower back pain or pelvic girdle pain, we can use the ultrasound to work out the best exercise programme for you.
Real time ultrasound is useful as a biofeedback tool to re-educate the brain so it understands the proper timing of a muscle contraction – such as the muscles of your core system. This can become an essential component of your training progamme.
This also helps if you are having difficulty losing your 'pregnancy bulge', no matter how many abdominal exercises you are doing. Or you might find it difficult to improve your abdominal wall or have experienced separation of your rectus abdominal (diastisis rectus abdominal).
